Details: As journalists reported, on Friday, November 29, a new protest action began in Tbilisi near the Georgian Parliament building.

It was attended by citizens who are protesting against the decision of “Georgian Dream” to abandon negotiations on joining the EU until 2028.

According to journalists, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia said that opposition supporters were allegedly discussing the possibility of blocking the operation of strategic facilities.

So far, the action in Tbilisi is peaceful. Rustaveli Avenue is closed.

It will be recalled that on Thursday, November 28, the Prime Minister of Georgia from the ruling party “Georgian Dream” Iraklii Kobakhidze announced that Tbilisi will refuse negotiations on joining the EU “until the end of 2028”. His statement came after the approval of the resolution of the European Parliament with a call not to recognize the result of the last elections.

Several Georgian departments have already spoken out against this decision.

President Salome Zurabishvili then declared that the ruling party had declared war on its own people.

In the evening, a large protest gathered under the walls of the parliament in Tbilisi, clashes with the police began. As a result, the protesters were violently dispersed with the use of water cannons and tear gas. During the crackdown, security forces beat journalists and their equipment.
