A military blogger who defrauded subscribers during a fundraiser for a unit of the Armed Forces was notified of suspicion

Law enforcement officers reported suspicion to a military blogger who deceived subscribers during a fundraiser for a unit of the Armed Forces. As reported in social networks, it is about the poet and publisher Vladyslav Hranecki-Stafijchuk, who has a pseudonym – Sord, reports UNN.

According to the National Police, in July 2022, the man wrote on his page that he had the opportunity to purchase five foreign-made mortars with a total cost of about 3.5 million hryvnias. He justified the urgency and importance of the collection by the fact that they would help the military in the battles near Izyum.

As the National Police investigators found out, the man kept a certain part of the funds for himself. We are talking about at least 350 thousand hryvnias appropriated from the fees. This is evidenced by the movement of funds on his private card accounts, the data of which law enforcement officers obtained authorized access during the investigation.

The police found the perpetrator in Vinnytsia at his place of residence and announced that he was suspected of fraud committed during martial law, which caused significant damage to the victim (Part 3 of Article 190).

The investigation is ongoing. The suspect will be remanded in custody soon.
