A man who hit a military TCC officer with an ax was detained

The law enforcement officers detained the intruder, who the day before attacked a soldier of the RTCC and SP in the city of Stryi, striking the latter in the chest with a kitchen tool “axe-hammer”.

Details: At around 7:30 p.m. on December 9, hotline 102 received a message from the doctors of the Stryi Central District Hospital about a patient who sought help with a fatal chest wound.

According to the police, the soldier of the Stryi RTCC and SP, who in 2023 was transferred to the service from the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo, was injured during the implementation of alert measures on Krasivskyi Street in the city of Stryi. Seeing a group of military personnel, a passer-by tried to run away. When one of the soldiers caught up with him, the man hit him in the chest with a kitchen tool like an ax-hammer.

After the crime, the attacker threw away the weapon and ran away, and the injured person with a cut wound was taken to the hospital.

Thanks to the coordinated work of law enforcement officers, the attacker was found and detained.

Under the procedural guidance of the Stryi district prosecutor’s office, criminal proceedings were initiated on the fact of violence against an official who is performing a public duty (Part 2 of Article 350 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Currently, the issue of notifying the husband of the suspicion and selecting a preventive measure in the form of detention is being resolved.
