At first, Ufa residents reported a powerful explosion in the city. Subsequently, the firefighters confirmed that there was a fire on the territory of the refinery, but did not name the reason.

“The employees of the Ministry of Emergencies in Russia localized the fire in the Ufa Oil Refinery in the Ufa. According to preliminary data, the ignition occurred on the territory of the enterprise in the area of ​​burning furnace. There are no threats to residents of the nearest areas. There is a laboratory on the site to control the condition of the air, ”rescuers said.

Russian publications write that the preliminary cause of fire at the refinery “became technological processes”.

Earlier, the head of the NSDC misinformation center Andriy Kovalenko reported with reference to Russian media, which attacked the UAV oil refining complex in the Ufa.

“Ufa is one of Russia’s largest refinery centers. In terms of total processing, the Bashkortostan region is part of the top 5 oil refineries of the country, ”he said.

The refining plant in Ufa is located about 1400 kilometers from Ukraine.

Since the beginning of 2024, Russian refineries have regularly affected Ukrainian drones. In some plants, the primary oil processing installations that demanded repair were obtained. However, in April last year, Russia was able to partially restore the capacity of key refineries.

According to the estimates of the BBC, published in August 2024, since the beginning of that year, the Armed Forces have at least 64 times attacked by refinery and oil infrastructure in Russia.
