A drunken law enforcement officer from the Rivne region significantly exceeded the speed of his car and killed a woman who was riding an electric bicycle.

Details: The DBR said that, according to preliminary information, the driver significantly exceeded the permitted speed, and the indicated section of the road was well lit.

A 40-year-old woman who was riding a bicycle died at the scene. The driver did not call an ambulance and simply left the scene of the accident.

Thanks to the efforts of the law enforcement officers, he was arrested the next day in a state of alcohol detoxification. He refused to pass the drager test, currently an analysis is scheduled to determine the exact amount of alcohol in the blood.

With the assistance of the police, the employees of the State Bureau of Investigation reported the suspicion to the law enforcement officer (Part 3 of Article 286-1, Part 1 of Article 135 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides imprisonment for a term of up to 10 years.
