According to the investigators, the steel plate that was bolted to the tracks was intended to cause him to derail. All this had to be recorded on video using a smartphone powered by a power bank and installed next to the track.
The detonation of the track near the village of Mika was arranged with the help of C-4 explosives and an initiating device, through a 300-meter cable. Part of the substance did not explode and investigators found it.
Tusk noted that the explosion occurred when a freight train was passing through the area on November 15 at 20:58. The explosion caused minor damage to the bottom of the car. The driver did not notice anything and continued driving.
“This is an unprecedented event. This is possibly the most serious situation regarding the security of the Polish state since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine. A certain line has been crossed,” concluded the prime minister.
Also, during a speech in the Diet, he revealed that the investigation considers two citizens of Ukraine to be perpetrators of sabotagewhich cooperate with the special services of the Russian Federation. They arrived in Poland from Belarus and left the same way.
Before that, the security structures of Poland announced about involvement of “special services from the east” to railroad sabotage, although Russia was not directly named.
