Addition
The country has been rocked by a recent spate of public attacks that have spooked a population long accustomed to low levels of violent crime. Last Monday, China suffered its deadliest attack in a decade, when 35 people were killed after a man drove a car into a crowd of people exercising at an outdoor playground in the southern city of Zhuhai. A few days later, eight people were killed and 17 others injured in an attack in a student town in eastern China.
