The judge recognized the similarity of the track to the samba composition Mulheres by the Brazilian author Toninho Geraes. It was written as early as 1995.

According to the court verdict, the Sony and Universal labels are obliged to immediately remove Adele’s song from streaming services and airwaves of radio and television. A fine of 8,000 dollars is provided for each case of violation of this order.

In Brazil, the music community has welcomed the court’s decision, with composers saying that “Western stars will now think twice before taking our tunes and turning them into their hits, earning millions.”
