The Rakuten Viber team investigated how Ukrainians engage in online sales. More than 20,000 respondents took part in the survey via the official Viber Ukraine channel.

The results showed that 24% of Ukrainians have already sold goods online through marketplaces, social networks and groups, and 19% have not yet sold, but plan to try. 55% of respondents did not sell and do not plan to do so, 20% sold several times, 4% – constantly, and 2% sold to friends offline.

Ukrainians named the most difficult aspects of online sales: communication with buyers (18%), work with payment and delivery (16%), placing ads (14%). The remaining 52% indicated other difficulties, including preparation of goods for sale, packaging, photography and keeping track of orders.

The survey also showed that the key age group of participants is 34-45 years old, with more than half of the respondents being under 45 years old. The majority of respondents noted that the main motivation for online sales is additional income, rather than a full-fledged business.
