“The adversary from the territory of the Russian Federation launched artillery fire on the areas of the settlements of Rogizne, Pavlivka, Starykovo, Bachivsk, Tovstodubov, Budky of the Sumy region,” the report stated as of 4:00 p.m.
The most fighting was recorded in two directions in the Donetsk region – Pokrovsky and Kostyantynivskyi.
“In the direction of Kostyantynivka, the invaders carried out 29 offensive actions near the settlements of Pleshchiivka, Shcherbynivka, Rusyn Yar, Kleban-Byk and in the direction of Kostyantynivka, Ivanopil, Illinivka, Mykolaypill, Stepanivka, Novopavlivka, Sofiivka. Three attacks are still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsky direction, since the beginning of the day, the Russian occupiers have made 51 attempts to dislodge our soldiers from their occupied positions in the areas of Nikanorivka, Rodynske, Mirnograd, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Filia and towards the settlements of Kucheriv Yar, Bilytske, Grishine, Novopidgorodne, Muravka, Novopavlivka, Ivanovka. The defense forces are holding back the onslaught and have already repelled 47 attacks,” the message reads.
Battles also continued in the North-Slobozhansk and Kursk, South-Slobozhansk, Kupyansk, Lymansk, Slavyansk, Oleksandrivsk, Gulyaipilsk, and Orihiv directions.
On January 22, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that the Defense Forces continue to restrain Russian troops in Pokrovsk and Myrnograd in Donetsk region, as small groups of the Russian Federation are trying to infiltrate the northern regions of both cities. He noted that as a result of the active assault actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, another attempt by the Russian invaders to seize these settlements was thwarted.
Fighting in Pokrovsk has been going on since October 2025, when the Russian army managed to break through to the city after several months of fighting on its slopes. Almost immediately, Russian soldiers began to be recorded in Pokrovsk’s satellite city of Mirnograd.
The Pokrovsky direction, according to the reports of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, constantly leads in terms of the number of Russian assaults.
