Yastremskaya did not sell the match against neutral and left the tournament in Rome

Diana gave way to Anastasia Potapova in three sets in the 1st round of Thousands in the capital of Italy”, – WRITE: Sport.ua

Ukrainian tennis player Diana Yastremska (WTA 45) failed to break into the second round of the prestigious WTA 1000 in Rome, the capital of Italy.

In the 1/64 finals the Ukrainian in three sets gave way to “neutral” Anastasia Potapova (WTA 34) in 2 hours and 40 minutes.

On the Tai Break of the Second Party, Diana had a match for 6: 5*. At the end of the third set, the Ukrainka took a medical time out because of problems with the right foot.

Yastremskaya fifth in her career played Potapova. Diana suffered the third defeat, including the second in 2025.

Potapova’s next rival will be Arina Sobolenko’s first racket.

Two Ukrainians will play in the 1/32 finals of Rome. The performances in the capital of Italy from this round will start Elina Svitolina (rival – Jessica Buzas Manairo), and earlier in the second circle Marta Kostyuk (victory over Alexander Eala, rival – Darya Kasatkin) made his way.
