January 8 Ukrainian tennis player Diana Yastremska (WTA 33) defeated Ann Lee (USA, WTA 91) in the 2nd round of the WTA 250 in Hobart, Australia.
The match ended with a score of 1:6, 7:5, 6:2 in favor of the Ukrainian in 2 hours and 10 minutes.
Thanks to this victory, Yastremska reached the quarterfinals of the competition in Australia. For her, this will be the first stage of the 1/4 finals from the Australian Open 2024 at the Tour level.
In total, during her career, Diana has already held 17 quarterfinals. In the match against her next opponent, McCartney Kessler, the Ukrainian will fight for a place in the ninth semi-final.
Diana also managed to win two matches in a row at one tournament for the first time since Wimbledon-2024.
