With a comeback, Anisimova defeated Keys and kept her chances for the semifinals of the WTA Finals

American tennis player Amanda Anisimova (WTA 4) won her first victory at the WTA Finals 2025 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

In the second round of the Serena Williams group, the American with a comeback beat her compatriot Madison Keys (WTA 7) in 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Amanda Anisimova (USA) – Madison Keys (USA) – 4:6, 6:3, 6:2

After losing the first game, Amanda trailed 1:3 with a break in the second, but managed to make a comeback.

Anisimova and Keys held their first face-to-face confrontation for the first time.

In the first round, Amanda lost to Yelena Rybakinia, and Madison lost to Iza Svyontek. Keys lost her chances for the WTA Finals playoffs, and Rybakina advanced to the semifinals early.

Anisimova is performing at the Final tournament for the first time in her career. In the decisive third round, Amanda will fight for a place in the playoffs against Sveontek.
