“The match between the teams in the KBDC playoffs will take place on November 16-17”, — write: sport.ua
Marion Maruska [капітан]: “It was a difficult decision, but I think that Paszek is simply the best choice of opponent for the match against Tsurenko. The application by Ukrainians Tsurenko and Zavatska on the first day was not a surprise to me. I expected this and it happened. As for our chances, I think we are well prepared. We arrived on time, we had a good workout these few days. I think a lot will depend on how we feel on game day.”
Signa Kraus: “The conditions are good here. The hall is cozy, the coverage is also pleasant. We’ve definitely had a good workout these past few days, so I feel comfortable. I hope I can also perform properly in tomorrow’s match. I’ve seen Zavatska play before, but I’ve never played against her. I think Marion will watch a few more of her videos. Also, I think she watched the girls practice. This means that we – and with Jurgen’s help too – will be able to put everything together into a coherent plan for the game. Therefore, I hope that we will be well prepared. Marta Kostiuk’s absence was a big surprise for some, and a smaller one for others. One way or another, the Ukrainian women are, of course, the favorites of this match. But we’ll just do our best and hope for a positive result in the end.”
On November 16-17, the women’s tennis team of Ukraine will play a playoff match of the Billie Jean King Cup against the Austrian team. The match will take place on the hard courts of McKinney in Dallas, Texas. The Elina Svitolina Foundation is organizing the “home” match for Ukraine.
