The fifth number of the ATP rating from Russia Daniil Medvedev recently demonstrated why so-called “neutrals” should not be allowed on the tennis courts.
In the 1st round of the Australian Open, Medvedev played against Kasidit Samray (Thailand, ATP 418), ranked 418th in the world. Daniil won the first set, but then lost the next two.
After the third game, Medvedev peeled off the net with his racket. During the break, the net had to be adjusted and re-set to the required level, and the Russian’s racket broke.
23-year-old Kasidit Samray is playing in the Grand Slam series tournament for the first time in his career. He received a wild card from the organizers.
