January 18 French tennis player Gael Monfils unexpectedly beat world number four Taylor Fritz in the 1/16 finals of the Australian Open 2025 with a score of 3:6, 7:5, 7:6, 6:4. 
Gael’s wife Elina Svitolina watched the match from the warm-up room, as she was scheduled to start against Jasmine Paolini almost immediately after her husband would have finished his match.
Svitolina was warming up and published a video on her Instagram in which she showed her reaction to her husband’s success.
Elina also won on Saturday. The Ukrainian lost Paolini’s fourth racket with a score of 2:6, 6:4, 6:0. Monfils was sitting in his wife’s box.
