VIDEO. Rafael Nadal returned to the court a year after the end of his career

A year ago, on November 19, 2024, Rafael Nadal played his last professional match in the final part of the Davis Cup for the Spanish national team. Thus, Rafa ended a career during which he won 1,000 matches at the Tour level, won 92 titles (22 of them in Grand Slam tournaments) and during which he led the ATP rankings for 209 weeks.

On Wednesday, November 19, the anniversary of his retirement from the sport, the Spanish tennis legend took up the racket again at his academy in a joint training session with Alexandra Eala, who is the 50th racket in the world.

“After a year, it was so cool to be back on the tennis court. It was great training with you, Alexander. Next time I will be stronger,” Nadal wrote on social networks.

Nadal, as before, is actively involved in the activities of his eponymous academy and closely follows the progress of players such as the incredibly talented 19-year-old Filipina, who rose from 143rd place to the top 50 this year.
