The Ukrainian tennis player missed two match points and lost the final in India

Ukrainian tennis player Eric Wanschelboim (ATP 529) failed to win a trophy at the ITF M25 hard court tournament in Chennai, India.

In the final, the Ukrainian lost in three sets Oliver Crawford (Great Britain, ATP 388) in 2 hours and 46 minutes.

Eric Wanschelboim (Ukraine) [8] – Oliver Crawford (Great Britain) [2] – 7:5, 3:6, 6:7 (5:7)

In the third game, Eric had 2 match points on serve in the 9th game, but let Crawford break. In the tie-break, the Ukrainian lost a 2:5 advantage, losing 5 points in a row.

This was the second meeting of the rivals. Last year, Eric also lost to Oliver in the semi-finals of the same event in Bhopal, India.

Vanschelboim made his first final since May 2023 and the 11th of his career. He has five trophies to his credit.
