“Taylor Fritz criticized a busy tennis graph”, – WRITE: Sport.ua
From the Toronto Series tournament, four of the six best tennis ratings of ATP: Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alkaras, Jack Draper and Novak Djokovich were starred at the Toronto tournament. Tommy Paul, Grigor Dimitrov, Sebastian Cord, Hubert Gurkach and Jordan Thompson will also not participate.
The third racket of the world Alexander Zverev will be sown under the first number in Canada, and American Taylor Fritz – under the second. Lorenzo Museum and Ben Schelton, which take seventh and eighth place in the world ranking, will receive the third and fourth sowing rooms respectively.
On the eve of his performance at the Hardovo tournament at the ATP 500 in Washington, the US capital, Fritz called the tennis calendar “crazy”.
“Yes, I think that, probably, almost all players have long been asked to reduce the season, but everything we do – we only extend it, we add more tournaments, make tournaments longer.
Hopman’s Cup passed after Wimbledon. I didn’t even know what it was going on. There were Felix (Ozh-Alyasim) and (Flavio) Koboolly-the tournament immediately after Wimbledon, and one of them came to play here. It’s madness. We just constantly add events to the calendar again and again.
They seem to have reduced some of the sections of the season to free the extra week between two tournaments – Wimbledon and Canada. Funny how we can cut your calendar to give a place to another tournament, but we cannot do so that you just leave this gap free.
I would like to get back to a two -week format and we could shorten the season for at least a week. I don’t know. But tennis was too much. We are waiting for a very busy schedule. ”
Commenting on a controversial 12-day format of Masters series, a 27-year-old tennis player added:
“Honestly, I complain about the duration of two -week tournaments, but at the same time I do not like to play the match, and then have a day before the next one. It’s strange – it all depends on my mood and how I feel. In one weeks, I want to play everything in a row, and in others – on the contrary, a day of rest between matches is needed. ”
