Jack Draper will miss the Australian series with a hand injury”, — write: sport.ua

24-year-old British tennis player Jack Draperwho is ranked 10th in the ATP rankings, will not play at the 2025 Australian Open.

It became known on December 26. Jack recorded a video message in which he said he would miss the Australian series entirely:

“Unfortunately, my team and I have decided not to go to Australia this year. It is really a very difficult decision, because the Australian Open is a Grand Slam competition, one of the biggest tournaments in our sport.

However, I have been suffering from a hand injury for a long time. I’m in the final stages of recovery, and returning to the court so soon to play five-set matches just doesn’t seem like a smart decision for me and my tennis.

Of course, I have already experienced many failures. But this one was definitely the most difficult and difficult of all that I have had. I expect to return to competition in 2026 and fight on the court again. Thank you all for your support in 2025 – it really means a lot to me. I hope to get back on tour soon and compete at the highest level again,” said Draper.

Interestingly, only on the 24th of the same month, Draper announced that he would still play at the major in Melbourne.

Jack has not played on Tour since late August, when he bowed out of a match against Zizou Bergs in the second round of the US Open and ended his season early.
