The 20-year-old Ukrainian won the second highest ranking victory in her career

On the night of December 27, a 20-year-old Ukrainian tennis player Anastasia Soboleva (WTA 217) defeated Daria Saville (Australia, WTA 108) in the 1st round of the WTA 500 tournament in Brisbane with a score of 6:2, 2:6, 7:5.

For Soboleva, this victory became the second highest rating in her career. Anastasia’s best result is a victory in the 1st round of the 125,000 in Bar over Lucia Bronzetti (June 2024), who was then ranked 67th in the WTA ranking.

In general, Soboleva played 15 matches against a tennis player ranked higher than her. Anastasia has only 4 victories.

In the decisive qualifying round of the competition in Brisbane, the Ukrainian will meet with the Australian Maddison Ingles (WTA 154).
