“It’s an amazing feeling to win another trophy, especially after the not-so-pleasing end to last season for me. But this break really helped me reset and come back with new energy and I’m very happy to win the title here.
You know, I’ve been in different situations in my career, but this one was special because my husband [Гаель Монфіс] won the trophy here last year and now he said to me: “If you don’t win this year, I don’t know what else to tell you.”
It’s been a really nice week for me and I want to thank everyone for making it special, all the sponsors, all the volunteers and everyone involved in such a great tournament and I really love playing here every year.
It was a good tournament. All the players really made me struggle this week. And I want to congratulate Wang Xinyu for a wonderful week. You played really, really well. You also had tough matches.
