– Elina, you made it to the finals, just like in 2024. During this tournament, you were tested for strength, you had to show character – and it was especially felt today. Everything came together at crucial moments. Is this the game you were looking for?
– Yes, of course. It’s nice to win a match in two sets. Yesterday was a very tough battle, and today too – especially in the first set. Iva played very well and I had to really fight, give my all and try to find my level. I am very happy that I was able to finish the match in two sets and save some energy before the final.
– Excellent performance. And a few words about Iva: she is just starting her journey on the tour. What impressed you the most in her game and what did you note for yourself in your first face-to-face match with such a young opponent?
– We trained together before the tournament, so I roughly understood what to expect. But even then she surprised me with the way she hits the ball and how well she moves around the court. I am sure she will have many more titles in the future.
