Svitolina: Given that I play aggressively, I need to adjust it

The first racket of Ukraine Elina Svitolina (WTA 13) gave an interview in front of Wimbledon-2025:

About rest after the soil season: “I had a 5-day vacation. We spent a little time with my daughter. It gave me a new breath because I played quite a few matches during this period, the schedule was very tense. I played well during the soil season, so it took a lot of effort.

It was cool to relax a little, to shut up completely, and then to start training on the grass with new strength. Of course, it’s not easy, but sometimes I need to make such small pauses. This is necessary to recover both physically and morally, because it is my priority. We have a very difficult calendar, tournaments go weekly, but sometimes we need to miss some competitions. It will play you in your hand because you will recover and will be fresh to bigger tournaments. ”

About adaptation on grass cover and preparation for Wimbledon: “I managed to train on the grass a week before the Bad-Homburg competition, and at the tournament I was able to play two good matches.

The match of the second circle was very difficult. Unfortunately, in the Tai Breika in the third set failed to use their chances. But still I think it was a good start for me. In addition, in Bad-Homburg is a completely different grass, it is faster than in Wimbledon, where it is still slower. Therefore, you feel the difference in the coating and the need to move differently.

I try to look at the positive side: I had 4 extra days to train here after Bad-Homburg and get used to the speed of these courts. ”

About finding a balance between attack and stability on the grass: “Given that I am more aggressive now, I need to adjust it at those moments where I need to suffer a little and play more stable. This is always the balance you need to have. Stability plays a large role not only in games, but also in draws too. Because you can take the initiative and then play more aggressively. That is, this balance must always be kept at the right level. ”

About the future match of the first circle against Anna Bondar: “I know what to expect from her. We had a difficult match on Rolan Harros, she played very well there. I try more to think that I have more experience on the grass. My main goal is to focus on your actions and on how to play on the grass, what moments to use. No matter who stands in the other half of the court. Of course, there are some tactical moments that I will need to focus on. But I still need to focus on my actions and execution of elements. ”

About the record heat that is predicted on the first day of the tournament: “On the one hand, it is good that there will be no rain and will not stop the matches because it is the most unpleasant. I was lucky that I will play the first start at 11 o’clock, so it will not be so hot. I think that in principle it will not change anything for me. But it is good that they predict quite good weather in London, because it’s always better than rain. ”

About the innovation for players in the All -Ungards Club: “There was a little upgrade the restaurant, there was more place to sit. Wimbledon is known to have a lot of space and there are many people. Now there is more space for relaxation. For several years there has been a new gym for us. There are no major changes. They try to leave everything as it is, but to make restoration. When you are here, you feel the story of this place. Everything looks very good, historically. It is very nice to stay here. ”

In the first round of Wimbledon, Elina will play against Anna Bondar (Hungary, WTA 75), which she overcame in the second circle of RG-2025 with a score of 7: 6 (7: 4), 7: 5. The meeting will begin on June 30 at 13:00 for Kiev.
