Starodubtseva had a successful start at the WTA 125 tournament in Manila

Ukrainian tennis player Julia Starodubtseva (WTA 110) won the opening match of the WTA 125 tournament in Manila, Philippines.

In the first round, the Ukrainian beat the representative of Thailand in two sets Peangtarn Plipych (WTA 824) in 1 hour and 40 minutes.

In the second round, Starodubtseva will fight either Joanna Garland (Chinese Taipei, WTA 117) or Solana Sierra (Argentina, WTA 63).

Yulia played her first match after the Australian Open – in Melbourne, the Ukrainian overcame qualification and was eliminated from the base in the first round by Ayla Tomlyanovych.

The first two seeds at the tournament in Manila are Tatiana Maria (Germany, WTA 42) and Alexandra Eala (Philippines, WTA 49). Eala defeated Alina Charaeva in the round of 16, and her match was expected to be sold out.
