STAHOVSKY on the admission of Russians: If we make the price high, someone would think

Former Ukrainian tennis player, and now a special officer of the Special Operations Center “A” of the Security Service of Ukraine “Alfa”, Serhiy Stakhovskyi expressed his opinion in an interview with the e2e4 portal about the growing trends of admitting Muscovites and Belarusians to official international competitions. And advised not to blame our sports diplomacy.

“Actually, our sports diplomacy is doing more than expected. Money and the war fatigue factor play a role. Some are beginning to forget what the war in Ukraine looks like. The Russians are taking advantage of this and are demanding that the federations of certain sports renew their rights,” says Stakhovsky.

“Tennis ATP and WTA are private, commercial tours. They seem to be subordinated to a specialized international federation, but are independent. If we made the price high, maybe someone would think about it. But we didn’t do that. After all, everyone is smart in hindsight,” Stakhovsky notes.
