Sachko made it to the second round of qualifying for the Australian Open 2026

Ukrainian tennis player Vitaly Sachko (ATP 166) won the opening match of the 2026 Australian Open qualifier.

In the first round, the Ukrainian dealt with Viktor Durasovych (Norway, ATP 323) in 1 hour and 41 minutes.

Sachko had a second face-to-face match against Durasovich and beat the Norwegian for the second time. In 2021, Vitaly coped with him at the 25,000th race in the Czech Republic.

Sachko won the first victory of the 2026 season. He was defeated by Patrick Kipson in the first round of qualifying for the ATP 250 event in Hong Kong last week.

In the second round of qualification, Vitaliy will play against Canadian representative Liam Draxl (ATP 145), with whom he has never played before.

For the third time in his career, Sachko is competing in the Australian Slam qualifiers (2022, 2024) and for the third time managed to pass the opening round. He never reached the final selection.
