Australian Open 2026. Qualification

Vitaly Sachko (Ukraine) – Liam Draxl (Canada) [20] – 3:6, 7:5, 6:7 (7:10)

In the second game, Vitaly was behind with a score of 2:4, but managed to recover and move the match into the third set. In the third game, Sachko led 5:2 and served for the match in the ninth game – 5:3 (30:0) / 5:3 (40:30). Unfortunately, the Ukrainian failed to realize the match point, after which he was defeated in a super tie-break.

Vitaliy could barely play in the super tie-break because of cramps. Sachko ended the match with a double fault and barely reached the net to shake his opponent’s hand.

Sachko played in the Australian Open qualification for the third time in his career and lost in the second round for the third time.

Draxl will face sixth-seeded Mackenzie MacDonald in the decisive match.
