In the last WTA season, which ended recently, Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina played with an injury. Former vice-president of the Tennis Federation of Ukraine Yuriy Sapronov told what was the reason for such a decision.
“Elina played every tournament on painkillers. I don’t know, maybe it’s a team decision. Maybe this operation should have been done earlier. But it is also clear, there is a season, helmets, obligations to sponsors. Such decisions are not easy to make,” said Sapronov.
Currently, Elina continues to recover from the injury and prepares for the start of the new tennis season.
