Oleksandra held the first face-to-face confrontation against Bondar.
Oliinikova will play in the quarterfinals of the WTA competition for the first time in her career. At the start of the tournament, the Ukrainian beat Mayar Sherif in three games.
This victory over Bondar became Oliynykova’s highest ranking in her career and only the second over a representative of the top 100.
In the quarterfinals, Cluj Oleksandra will fight one of the winners of the two pairs: Wang Sinyu / Caitlin Quevedo – Yelena-Gabriela Ruse / Rebekah Masarova.
