ATP signed a cooperation agreement with the company SURJ Sports Investment, which is part of the Saudi sovereign fund (PIF).
PIF is the title sponsor of the ATP ranking, the Masters in Indian Wells, Miami and Madrid. From 2023, Jeddah will host the Youth Finals, and from 2024, Riyadh will host the WTA Finals.
The exact dates of the Masters in Saudi Arabia are still unknown – the possibility of holding the tournament in February or before the Australian Open is being considered. Masters in S-A will be held on open hard and it will not be mandatory.
The Masters grid in Saudi Arabia will be designed for 56 players. The tournament will be the tenth in the ATP 1000 category after Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo, Madrid, Rome, Toronto / Montreal, Cincinnati, Shanghai and Paris.
