Why did it happen? In addition to the obvious indifference, many probably believed that Andy Marrey’s existence would be enough to inspire generations of future champions. But we have already seen a similar example – Sweden, which has virtually disappeared from a tennis card.
“I have been doing this for 12 years, spent a whole fortune, fully exhausted and I have not received any support from those people who have so promised tennis and sports in Scotland so much. This is all apathy, lack of cooperation and endless obstacles. At some point, it seemed that everything we do, they just interfered with them – and they began to complicate our way every day. ”
Many years have passed, Andy Marray hung a racket on the nail, and Scotland lost his historical opportunity to develop children’s and youth tennis. It is enough to mention Australia and Lleiton Hugitt – they also hoped for one leader, but later they realized that without mass investment of the flame, which was lit by a young man from Adelaide, would go out. There is currently no tennis player in Scotland.
“For me, this is a great personal disappointment – to see that I didn’t work. In fact, the creation of such a system should be the mission of the Scottish government and sports bodies. The objects alone are not enough – coaches with vision, ambitions, passion and full dedication are needed to grow world -class players, ”says Judy, who personally trained both of her sons and led them to victories in the Great Helme.
“I still do not know how my children became champions, but they proved that it was possible. They are a live confirmation of this. And it is a pity that we have not been able to use the invaluable experience that we have accumulated over the last 30 years. I did everything I could. Now the queue for young generations. ”
