More than three hours. Kostyuk and her partner made it to the 1/4 finals of the Aus Open

Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk made it to the doubles quarterfinals at the 2025 Australian Open.

In the 3rd round, the Ukrainian and her partner Yelena-Gabriela Ruse (Romania) beat the tandem in three sets Guo Hanyu (China) / Alexander Panov in 3 hours and 10 minutes.

This was the first meeting of the rivals.

Kostyuk and Ruse made it to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open for the second time in their careers. Two years ago, they reached the semi-final stage.

The Ukrainian-Romanian tandem, in addition to the Chinese woman and the “neutral woman”, also managed to overcome the pairs of Destani Ayava / Maddison Inglis and Elise Mertens / Ellen Peres.

Kostyuk and Ruse will compete against Xie Shuwei (Taiwan) and Alyona Ostapenko (Latvia) for a place in the semi-finals of the Australian major.
