“The Ukrainian commented the victory over McCartney Kessler in the 1/8 Final of Montreal”, – WRITE: Sport.ua
– It was an incredible match. The conditions, especially at the beginning of the match, were very complex, the wind was blowing on all sides, it changed with each point, so it was very difficult to adapt. And then I decided that I would not adapt. I decided that the wind should adapt to me (laughs).
It was a great battle and an incredible match, so thank you very much, fans, for being so ill, it is stunning.
– And now, to complete everything, you are going to your first quarterfinals here, at the Open Championship of Canada. What are the feelings?
– Yes, last year I lost a very close Emmy match [Наварро] in 1/8 finals. And today, when I lost the first set 5: 7 and last year I gave way to [Еммі] 5: 7, 5: 7, I thought, “No, I will not lose again with the same score.” So so, it’s just stunning, you know, it is … as I said, I didn’t win the matches for three months before. So I was confused.
I was not very sure of myself when I came to this tournament. Yes. And so, I am very grateful to my team for having been with me and passed through it with me. Thank you great, guys. I love you. Thank you.
