“The Ukrainian tennis player took to the court for the first time in 2.5 months”, — write: sport.ua
The second racket of Ukraine Ilya Marchenko told Sport.ua about the first match after the operation. At the challenger in Nonthaburi (Thailand), the Ukrainian lost to the fifth-seeded Aslan Karatsev in the first round – 1:6, 4:6.
“I didn’t expect anything special from the first match. I don’t move well, I’m not in the best physical shape. Today there was a catastrophic lack of concentration. But in general there were also positive moments: he served well, held on for quite a long time in the second set. But, of course, there is still a long way to a good level,” said Ilya.
Note that at the end of July, Marchenko had part of the meniscus removed from his right knee.
