The fifth racket of the world Jessica Pegula from the USA successfully started at the Final WTA 2025 tournament.

In the first round of the group, Steffi Graf Pegula beat her compatriot in three sets Coco Goff (WTA 3) in 2 hours and 15 minutes.

Coco Goff (USA) – Jessica Pegula (USA) – 3:6, 7:6 (7:4), 2:6

Pegula and Goff had their eighth face-to-face confrontation. Jessica defeated Coco for the fifth time.

Goff won the WTA Finals trophy last year. Koko became the first reigning Finals champion since 2018 to lose in the first round of the group stage. Seven years ago, Caroline Wozniacki lost to Karolina Pliskova.

Pegula is playing at Pidsumkovo for the fourth time in his career. In 2023, Jessie reached the finals and lost to Iza Svyontek.

In one quartet, Coco and Jessica perform together with Arina Sobolenko and Jasmin Paolini. On November 2, Sobolenko defeated Paolini with a score of 6:3, 6:1.
