American woman McCartney Kesslerwho defeated Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremska in the quarterfinals, lost to Elina Avanesyan.
In the decisive match, Kessler will play against the ex-12th racket of the world and the 2nd seed of the competition Elise Mertens. The Belgian beat Maya Joynt in the semi-finals.
Kessler reached the finals at the WTA level for the second time in her career and will fight for her second trophy. It will be Mertens’ 14th Tour-level decider as she seeks a 9th title.
