“The first racket of Ukraine commented on the victory over Nao Hibino at the Aus Open”, — write: sport.ua
– Now is the start of the season. How are you feeling at the beginning of the year?
– This was my first victory this year. Therefore, it is obviously a difficult start for now. I really want to focus on going match by match, really going day by day and not focusing on the big results just yet. Because I don’t think it’s necessary at this point. To achieve outstanding results, you need to win a lot of matches. So what I’m more focused on right now is spending as much time as possible on the court.
– What were you thinking at the end of the first set?
– As I already said, this is my first victory in the last three months. Yes, I kind of forgot what to do with my brain to somehow mobilize myself to fight for every point and just move from draw to draw. So I’m very glad that I managed to do it, that I was able to get back into the game. The first two weeks of the year were not easy for me. And, of course, I thought a little bit about not being able to win those matches. So, yes, it’s a process, but I’m very, very happy with how it turned out in the end.
– What are your thoughts on the upcoming match against Jule Niemeyer?
– I didn’t know who I would play against, but now you told me (laughs). I actually trained with her 4-5 days ago. It will be interesting because Hibino and Niemeyer play completely differently. I’m looking forward to this fight.
