– Marta, the first tournaments of the season were not the most successful for you, but, nevertheless, there was game practice in Australia, and now I wonder how much you rate your readiness for AO?
– It was important for us that I was able to participate in the first tournament of the season. We approached these starts calmly, understanding that this was more of a part of the training process that I was missing because of the injury. Therefore, the main goal was to get back into the rhythm, and in this sense these tournaments fulfilled their role.
– There was information that during the pre-season training you had torn a muscle. That is, is it really so? To what extent did it prevent quality preparation for the season?
– Yes, I really had a tear, although not a muscle, but another very unpleasant area, which greatly complicated the preparation. The injury happened right in the middle of the training camp, and it significantly affected our plan. I had my first practice with full draws just two days before my first singles match in Brisbane. However, I now rate my preparation for the Australian Open as good, so I’m looking forward to my start.
– In the first round you have the Japanese Nao Hibino. You beat her twice, but it was a long time ago. Here she passed a very good qualification. How do you rate this draw for the first round?
– I try not to evaluate the draw, because every match is a new story. A strong opponent may have a bad day, while a less experienced one may play her best game. Therefore, the main thing for me is to prepare for the match, focus on my own game and do everything in my power.
– Are you planning to play doubles or maybe mixed in Melbourne?
– Yes, I will play a doubles tournament together with Gabi [румунка Єлена-Габріела Русе]
– Last year, your dresses from Wilson became a true decoration of every major, and you entered, probably, in all hit parades evaluating the best outfits of the season. Are you preparing to surprise with something new this year?
– I really like the dress in which I will play in Melbourne. She has already received many positive reviews from those who have seen her (laughs). I also had the chance to see some of the new collections for this year and I really liked them. So I’m looking forward to my matches and I hope I can go as far as possible to wear this great outfit for longer (laughs).
