Kostyuk defeated the German and went out to the 1/16 finals of the big tournament in Beijing

The second racket of Ukraine Martha Kostyuk (WTA 28) Successfully started at WTA 1000 in Beijing, China.

In the second round, a Ukrainian in two sets defeated Germany’s representative Elli Sideel (WTA 95) in 1 hour and 1 minute.

Kostyuk conducted the first face -to -face confrontation against Zidel.

Martha’s next rival will be either Naomi Osaka (Japan, WTA 14), or Alexander Sasnovich (WTA 130).

Martha won the third victory in a row. After US Open, Kostyuk spent two games for the national team in the final part of the Billy Cup, Gin King, overcome Jessica Buzas Manairo and Elizabeth Cockharetto.

Kostyuk performs for the third time on Beijing courts. In 2023 she reached the 1/8 finals, and last season lost in the second round.

Martha is the only Ukrainian who was able to reach the third round of the thousands in Beijing. Yulia Starodubtseva was defeated in the 1/64 finals, and Diana Yastremskaya completed the performances in the second round.
