Kostiuk explained the failure of men’s tennis in Ukraine

Marta mentioned several important factors”, — write: sport.ua

The first racket of Ukraine Marta Kostyuk explained the failure of men’s tennis in Ukraine. The athlete named several reasons for the big gap between women’s and men’s tennis in our country.

“Now, I think the war is a big factor. I have some thoughts on this. They may not be incorrect – they may be inaccurate, but I think there is definitely some truth to it. I think that it is primarily financial. Everything is much more expensive for men, it is much more expensive to raise them.

The second is that they develop later, and decisions need to be made earlier. That is, if the girls already understand everything a little earlier – where you will be, whether you have potential – then the boys develop later, and therefore they only understand at the age of 20-21 whether they have any chances at all.

Then there is a lot of parental pressure. It seems to me that they somehow break down under this pressure, because they understand that: God, I have to make decisions here and already feed my family, and I have to make some important decisions,” said Marta.

Previously, Marta Kostiuk spoke about the most difficult moments of her professional career.
