24-year-old Ukrainian tennis player Katarina Zavatska commented on the performances for the Ukrainian national team in the Billie Jean King Cup match against Austria.

“Of course, I want to fight for the top 100. I have the motivation, and I know what I am capable of. Sometimes it is difficult for me psychologically, because I know that at the age of 19 I was at a good level, but now everything has changed. Going out on the court against my rivals, deep down I understand that I was better than them, that I can play better, that I must win, so I have to work and focus on the game.

These matches in the national team confirm what I am worth. I would like to play like this in every tournament, even if there are losses – nothing, my rating will return to the numbers where I was before.

I have already planned several tournaments for next season. I will start in Auckland and then I will play at the Australian Open. Therefore, now it is necessary to give it your all, sometimes under the influence of painkillers. The emotions that I experience in the national team are very positive, despite the fact that everything hurts. Everything for the sake of victory,” commented Katarina Zavatska to “Great Tennis of Ukraine”.

The Ukrainian women’s tennis team won a match against the Austrian team in the Billie Jean King Cup playoffs. According to the results of five matches, the Ukrainian women triumphed with a score of 3:2.
