Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinin (WTA 127) will play in the qualification of the hard tournament WTA 500 in BrisbaneAustralia.

In the first round of selection, the Ukrainian will compete with the representative of Hungary Anna Bondar (WTA 74). The meeting will take place on the night of January 2 and will start approximately at 02:00 Kyiv time.

Previously, Kalinin played twice against Bondar. In 2022, the Ukrainian won in the 1/64 finals of Wimbledon, and in 2023 – in the selection for the competition in Adelaide.

If Angelina passes Anna, then in the qualifying finals she will take the court either against Rebecca Masarova (Switzerland, WTA 116) or against Katie Volynets (USA, WTA 93).

Last year, Kalinin reached the semifinals on the courts of Brisbane – she has to defend 195 points.

Ukrainians Marta Kostyuk and Dayana Yastremska will play at the heart of the competition in Brisbane. Kichenok’s sisters Ludmila and Nadiya will perform in the doubles tournament.
