In the first round of qualification, the Ukrainian lost in two sets Annie Bondar (Hungary, WTA 74) in 1 hour and 57 minutes.

In the first game, Angelina won with a score of 4:0 (with two breaks), but lost the advantage, giving six games in a row.
Kalinina held her third head-to-head match against Bondar and was defeated by Anna for the first time.
Angelina was the first Ukrainian to play in 2026. Kalinin failed to defend last year’s semi-final of the 500 in Brisbane and lost 195 points. Angelina is on the 174th position in the WTA LIVE rating.
Bondar will compete against Katie Volynets in the finals of selection for the main draw of Brisbane.
Ukraine in Brisbane will be represented by Marta Kostyuk and Dayana Yastremska in singles, and Kichenok sisters Lyudmila and Nadiya will play in the same tandem in doubles.
