“Sofia failed to cope with Ekaterina Tupitsyna in the round of 16 singles”, — write: sport.ua
On Wednesday, two Ukrainian tennis players played in Melbourne: Sofia Belinska and Antonina Sushkova.
14-year-old Belinska lost to “neutral” Kateryna Tupitsinia in the 1/8 finals of the singles category. For Sofia, this was the debut at the Grand Slam tournaments, if we do not take into account the performances at Wimbledon-2025 in the U-14 category, where she reached the final.
17-year-old Sushkova, together with her partner Nadya Lagaeva (Canada), lost in two sets the match of the 1/8 finals of the doubles to the Americans Chukwumelie Clark and Nancy Lee. Sushkova will continue her performances in the singles category of the major, where in the third round she will fight against the eighth seed Thea Frodin.
