The first racket of Ukraine Elina Svitolinawho is ranked No. 14 in the WTA rankings, will begin the 2025 season at the WTA 250 tournament in Auckland, New Zealand.
Elina’s participation was announced in the official social networks of the competition. The tournament will be held from January 5 to 11, the current champion is Clara Towson.

Elina played on the Oakland courts only once – in 2024, she reached the final, overcoming Caroline Wozniacki, Emma Radukana, Maria Bouzkova and Wang Xia on her way. In the decisive match, Elina lost to Coco Goff in three sets.
Svitolina finished the 2025 season after the final part of the Billie Jean King Cup, where she reached the semi-finals together with the Ukrainian national team.
