24-year-old American tennis player Jenson Brooksby (ATR 507) became the winner of the soil tournament ATR 250 in HoustonUSA.

In the finale, the American in two sets beat his compatriot Francis Tiafo (APR 17) in 1 hour and 28 minutes.

Brooksby won the first trophy in his career. And his history and the path to the championship in these competitions are truly impressive.

First, Jenson of Australian Open 2023 did not play the Australian Open 2025 due to injuries, as well as 18-month disqualification due to doping tests. He only returned at the Australian Major this season without rating and lost four matches in a row. The Houston Brooksby tournament was approached with three victories and six lesions in the season.

Secondly, in December 2024, Brooksby first confessed that he lives with an autistic spectrum disorder.

And in Houston, his matches were far from the lightest. He started with a qualification, where he almost lost Agustine Gomez in the 1st round, playing 3: 5 in the second set after the first party loose, leaving the match on a ninth gama and 1: 4 on a Tai Breika.

The next difficult Jenson match was a meeting with Alehandra Tabilo in the 1/8 finals. After defeat in the first set, he played from 2: 4 in the second and transferred the match into a decisive party. There also had to play the break (Tabilo did not serve for the match), as well as to save three matches on a Tai broth at 3: 6. For 6: 6 Jason, although he had a small advantage in the rally, but Tabylo was successfully defended, and the American took the American thanks to a rope that hit the ball that fell to the side of Chilets.

The duels against Alexander Kovachevich and Tommy Paul in the quarterfinals and the semifinals, respectively, seemed difficult. With Kovachevich Janzon, he made Kambek after the looked at the first set, and with Paul played his serving for a match in the 12th Gaymi of the Third Party and the match already on his serving on a Tai-Breika for 5: 6.

It can be assumed that the match of Tiafo seemed to be the simplest for Jenson. Perhaps only Patrick Malouni from the fourth hundred in the final round of Brooksby’s selection was easier.

Brooksby’s way to a trophy in Houston:

  • 1st Round Selection: Jenson Brooksby [WC] – Agustine Gomez [1] – 3: 6, 7: 6 (7: 5), 6: 4
  • 2nd Round Selection: Jenson Brooksby [Q] – Patrick Malouni – 6: 4, 6: 2
  • 1/16 finals: Jenson Brooksby [Q] – Tarot Daniel – 6: 4, 6: 4
  • 1/8 finals: Jenson Brooksby [Q] – Alehandra Tabilo [3] – 3: 6, 6: 4, 7: 6 (8: 6)
  • 1/4 finals: Jenson Brooksby [Q] – Alexander Kvachevich – 2: 6, 6: 3, 6: 4
  • 1/2 finals: Jenson Brooksby [Q] – Tommy Paul [1] – 7: 6 (7: 5), 3: 6, 7: 6 (8: 6)
  • Final: Jenson Brooksby [Q] – Francis Tiafo [2] – 6: 4, 6: 2
