Daria’s last season was uneven, but still she distinguished herself with several successful performances. Barbora Palitsova spent the end of 2024 on futures and challengers, where she showed stable results. The Czech started the new season with a tournament in Canberra, where she failed to qualify. However, in Melbourne Palitsova shows a solid game. In the first round of qualification, she beat Swiss Simona Waltert in two tough sets (7:6, 7:5).

Palitsova impressed with her serve, winning 77% of the draws with the first ball, as well as her ability to maintain concentration in key moments – the Czech won 7 out of 9 break points. Her receiving game could be the deciding factor in the matchup with Snigur, given the Ukrainian’s serve problems.
