“Svitolina, Kostyuk, Yastremska and Oliynikova will play at the core of the Australian major”, — write: sport.ua
They are Elina Svitolina (WTA 14), Marta Kostyuk (WTA 26), Dayana Yastremska (WTA 27) and Oleksandra Oliinikova (WTA 96). Oliinikova will play on Australian courts for the first time in her career and make her debut at the base of the Grand Slam.
Karolina Pliskova (Czech Republic), Wang Yafan (China) and Mananchaya Sawangkaw (Thailand) will play under the protected rating in Melbourne. Angelina Kalinin, who is currently ranked 156th, could use the protected rating, but she will probably use it at other majors (maximum two Grand Slam tournaments).
Kalinin, like Yulia Starodubtseva (WTA 113), will have to qualify.
From the top-100, only two tennis players did not apply for A0-2026: Danielle Collins (USA, WTA 64) and Ons Jaber (Tunisia, WTA 76).
Australian Open 2026 will be held from January 18 to February 1 in Melbourne. Qualification matches will start on January 12.
