“Time always takes its toll. He has already done so much in such an incredibly long career. We said the same about Federer. It seems to me that Novak will run out of enthusiasm rather than strength. It can be difficult, especially when the people you started with are gone; it plays an important role.
When Pete Sampras retired it was a blow to me and set me back a bit. In a way, I had to find motivation again. Djokovic was left without those with whom he made history. It’s possible that emotionally it will be harder and harder for him, but I wouldn’t write him off by any means. You can do so only at your own peril and risk.”
